Building a Connected, Inclusive Community in Chicagoland.

Chicagoland DEI Alliance

A Practitioner-Focused, non-partisan collaborative advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across workplaces and communities.
The Chicagoland Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) Alliance is a network and community where ideas and strategies for DEI converge with regional practitioners who are firm believers in the importance of true diversity, intersectional inclusion, and measurable equity. We convene and activate to share information, support one another, and improve the health and confidence of the DEI sector. We believe our society, all companies, and every nonprofit are made better by the power of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The Chicagoland DEI Alliance is powered by Justice Informed, a social impact firm based in Chicago and working across America to advance the work of social change and equity within workplaces and communities. All requests for information, financial management, communication, and staffing are managed by the Justice Informed staff team. All programming is overseen by Justice Informed and led by an internal volunteer committee of professional DEI practitioner-members of the Chicagoland DEI Alliance.

How We Support Practitioners

Our collective is 100% practitioner-led, governed, and supported. We provide weekly tactical support to members to address urgent DEI needs, maintain a database of consultants and resources, and offer regular programming to support education, advocacy, and community building across our sector, in line with our members’ needs.

Alliance Goals

Before we outline our core objectives, it’s important to understand why the Chicagoland DEI Alliance exists. We bring practitioners together to share real-world insights, co-create solutions, and drive collective action. Our work centers on three interconnected pillars—each essential for building a resilient, inclusive community that can adapt to changing challenges and opportunities. Below, you’ll find the three guiding goals that shape everything we do:

01

Engagement

To cultivate and host a dynamic network of DEI practitioners (both in-house and external consultants) who bring their ideas, concerns, challenges, and opportunities to a community of peers for shared learning, support, and idea testing. The aim is to build trust and provide truly valuable information and tactics that address the real-world challenges practitioners face.
